Straps
The choice of a tension strap depends on the size and type of tent. Check the tent manufacturer’s recommendations and make sure the lashing strap is strong enough for your specific application.
Inspect webbing straps regularly for signs of wear or damage. Store them in a dry place out of direct sunlight to prolong their life. After use in salty conditions, rinse them with fresh water.
Pegs
For hard or rocky ground, steel pegs or specific hard ground pegs are ideal. They are stronger and can better handle the difficult conditions.
It is recommended that pegs be inserted as deeply into the ground as possible, usually until they are fully submerged, to ensure maximum stability and strength.
Tools
For tent setup, hammers or sledgehammers for hammering in pegs, peg removers for easy peg removal and a multipurpose knife or tool for general tasks are essential. A tent repair kit can also come in handy for any tears or damage.
Make sure tools are clean and dry before storing them. Rust-proof sprays can help prevent corrosion on metal tools. Store them in a dry place and check regularly for signs of wear.
