Bad weather on the way? These products will make your camping trip more comfortable
We haven’t just been camping in the summer for ages now. The early, late and winter seasons are also becoming increasingly popular. And anyone who camps outside the peak season is more likely to have to deal with rain, wind and cold. That doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. The sound of rain on the roof can actually be lovely, as long as you’re warm and dry. Walking through the wet grass in your flip-flops to the toilet block is another story altogether. Which products will help you stay comfortable whilst camping, even on wet, cold and windy days? We’ve put together a list of a few for you!
Protect your bikes from the rain
Your bikes usually won’t fit in your caravan or motorhome. So they end up outside – even when it rains for hours on end. With electric bikes in particular, you’ll want to prevent moisture and dirt from building up unnecessarily. The Salleta bike cover is suitable for two electric bikes and protects them from rain and dirt. It also features a built-in pocket for a signboard. This way, your bikes stay better protected on wet days and helps keep their parts in good condition for longer. Which is great if you want to clock up plenty of kilometres on them again straight after the downpour.
Make sure you warm up quickly indoors
A rainy day often feels cold straight away, especially in the early and late seasons. So it’s nice when your caravan or campervan feels cosy again in no time. The Sunnyflame ceramic heater provides extra warmth. The flame effect also creates a cosy atmosphere, turning a grey, rainy evening into a cosy one after all. The heater is compact and easy to take with you in your caravan, campervan or tent.
Keep your awning firmly in place
Strong winds often cause more stress than rain. You can hear the tent fabric flapping and wonder whether everything is still secure. The Tentsafe Plus storm strap gives your awning extra stability. The strap runs across the awning and helps to keep everything firmly in place. This is particularly useful in strong winds.
Make sure you always have a good light to hand
In bad weather, it’s often darker during the day, and in the early and late seasons, it gets dark quickly in the evening. Yet you often still need to go outside, for example to the shower block. That’s when the Magnaluce comes in handy. You can use it as a lamp or a torch, and thanks to the magnet, you can easily attach it to a metal surface. It also has a power bank function.
Protect your power connection from moisture
When it rains, the first things that spring to mind might be wet seats or mud. But your outdoor power connection also deserves attention. The Safebox CEE helps to protect a CEE plug connection from water and moisture. This is particularly important in wet weather. The connection is often situated or suspended outdoors and is therefore exposed to the elements. With proper protection, you’ll have less to worry about.
Cut down on trips to fetch water in the rain
You’re sitting indoors and can hear the rain getting heavier and heavier. Then you realise you’re almost out of water. With the Waspa 1 foldable water tank, you can take up to 10 litres of water with you to your campsite. That saves you an extra trip to the water tap. The tank has a tap and folds down small after use.
Keep loose items under control
Wind can suddenly make small things very annoying. A tent mat lifts up. A towel blows away. A piece of tent fabric keeps flapping about. With the MultiClamps, you can easily secure various items. They’re small and take up hardly any space. Yet they can be surprisingly handy on a windy day.
Be well prepared, even if the weather takes a turn
You can’t prevent rain, wind and cold. But you can prepare for them. Protect your bikes. Secure your awning properly. Make sure you have warmth and light. Keep water to hand and protect your power connection. Then you won’t have to head indoors and feel down-hearted at the first sign of a dark cloud. With a few clever accessories, camping remains comfortable – and, of course, fun – even in bad weather!
